Life Style Coaching
To achieve permanent change in dietary habits, it is crucial to understand the “hows” and “whys” of emotional eating. As a means to find answers to these questions, your Life Style Coach will address the following topics with you:
- Assessing your current lifestyle
- Relearning physical hunger cues and recognizing emotional eating
- Devising weekly action plans to assist with behavioral challenges
- Overcoming mental programming that blocks success
- Learning various stress reduction techniques in place of food
- Releasing negative thoughts and feelings
Registered Dietitian Consultations
One of our Registered Dieticians will develop a healthy and well-balanced nutritional program for every client. This program begins with a comprehensive initial assessment that will measure the following levels:
- Complete RMR caloric baseline
- Lipid panel screening
- Glucose screening
- Blood pressure
- Quality of life
Custom nutrition and health management issues may include:
- Portion distortion
- Eating on the run
Dining out
- Effective label reading
- Snacking: fact vs. fiction
- Personalized protein, fat, and carbohydrate goals
Personal Training
One of Harbor’s Certified Personal Trainers will work on an individual basis to design a body-appropriate fitness program and to teach exercise technique for optimal weight loss. Your training sessions will include the following components:
- Initial consultation and baseline measurements
- On-going progressive workout design
Instruction in the principals of proper resistance training
- Understanding the fundamentals of cardiovascular exercise
- Lessons in stretching and flexibility
- Measuring progress in body composition, muscular strength, and stamina
- Motivation and encouragement to sustain momentum

At the Harbor Weight Loss Institute, you will engage in weekly one-on-one sessions with one or more members of our highly qualified staff. We closely monitor your participation and encourage you with every step in the process.
Convenience
All of our services take place at the Harbor Wellness Center. In addition, as a member of Harbor Athletic Club, you will have access to all of its state-of-the-art equipment, swimming pools, and fitness classes.
