Success Stories "I had tried Weight Watchers several times without permanent success. I was skeptical about trying to lose weight again because of my current arthritis. I was experiencing arthritic knees, arm lymphedema, shoulder tendonitis, increased cholesterol levels and higher blood pressure. Todd Passini, who is part owner of Harbor Athletic Club, talked to me about a more personalized program in order to be successful with permanent weight loss and to improve my health. Six months ago I met with Sandy Schuette, the lifestyle coach, and we addressed some of the emotional reasons for my weight gain. With her continued support I became more confident about my ability to not only lose the weight but also being able to keep it off. I began taking more time for things that reduced my stress levels, like reading, listening to music, journaling, and exercising. The more I turned to these strategies the less I turned to mindless eating. My personal trainer, Jen Grabarski, has shown me how to Throughout this six month program I have continued to experience health benefits with the lowering of my blood pressure from 140/90 to 120/60. In addition my cholesterol has improved by my lowering it a whopping 51 points. I am continuing to work with Harbor Weight Loss Institute in order to achieve my goal of losing 100 lbs. To date I am at 25 lbs and counting. My physician is particularly impressed with my decreasing abdominal measurements as well as my ability to walk farther and farther without pain. Even though I can’t measure it, this program has improved my sense of self-worth along with my energy level. Today I am more confident about all the challenges I handle in my day to day life."

immediately know whether I am losing weight, maintaining weight, or gaining weight. I no
longer get upset with myself when I decide to indulge in something high caloried. Previously, I
would have criticized myself for eating in an unhealthy way, which would have led to more
eating. Now I enjoy it. It satisfies me and then I’m done with it. I am no longer my food choices.
My self-worth isn’t dependent on what I eat. Occasionally, there is a small blip of fear about
